A 60-day cruise around Australia was terminated following the death of an senior woman who was stranded by the ship on a isolated tropical isle.

The passenger had been walking on the remote island with fellow passengers from the Coral Adventurer, but parted ways from the group for a rest. The vessel departed without her and returned later that day after the crew became aware the lady was missing.

An extensive search operation located her body the following day.

Officials are investigating the incident, together with law enforcement and the medical examiner.

Chief Executive of the shipping company stated that guests and staff on the vessel were informed that the remainder of the cruise had been called off due to the "tragic passing and prior engine troubles".
