Two Arrests Following Heathrow ‘Pepper Spray’ Attack

Placeholder Heathrow Airport scene
This incident caused the partial closure of the CTA tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park.

Two more people are now in custody related to a theft at London's Heathrow Airport in which 21 people were injured by a substance believed to be pepper spray, according to law enforcement.

A man, 24, was arrested in the Lambeth area for suspected theft and assault and a 23-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit robbery. They both are still being held, authorities confirmed.

The arrests come after a probe into an assault at the multi-storey car park at Terminal 3 this past Sunday. Before the attack, two women were robbed of their luggage after getting out of a car park lift.

A toddler aged three was one of the injured during the incident. A total of five individuals went to hospital for treatment and have since been released.

Officers arrested a 31-year-old man on suspicion of theft and assault near the scene. He was subsequently released pending further inquiries as the investigation proceeds.

Police were called at about 08:10 GMT following reports of a number of people hurt by an irritating chemical thought to be an irritant spray.

The attack - which authorities stated was isolated and not considered an act of terror - caused train delays and the partial closure of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the T3 parking facility briefly.
